Sampling US Quality Sausages |
Cooking is inherent, it cannot be taught...so if you want to learn how to
cook and enroll or do some tutorials in cooking 101, it is inherent in you that
you really are a gastronomic geek.
By simply preparing your coffee in the
morning is considered as cooking and if you think you cannot cook, well you
better think again. Learning how to cook is something, being an expert is
another. If you want to be an expert, then you have to be passionate enough to
learn all the ins and outs of cooking world. But if you just want to cook for
your family with a little finesse then you should be passionate as well. This
is most crucial since you are cooking for the most important persons in your
life, right?
It is most fortunate that we were
invited for the US Fine Foods Show last May 22-23 at the Baguio Country Club, where
US products were introduced to showcase the quality and versatility of their
uses. I am no expert in cooking but attending this event made me a little bit
in line with the experts as we got first hand tips from the renowned chefs from
Center for Culinary Arts (CCA). I cook for my family and learning some tips on
how to enhance my dishes made me confident in cooking for them. Every time they
find my food scrumptious, it boosts my cooking ability.

Who would have thought that by simply using your elbow to measure the
temperature or heat of the oven can be considered as expert move already. This
is true to Chef Carol who is so witty in sharing her expertise in cooking
pastries. Chef Lionel on the other hand, gives some insights on the different
textures of meat, on which part to use on a particular dish. An added bonus is
his being the sommelier for the food that he showcased. Well of course, I hate
to admit it but the best part is the taste test, meat that melts to your mouth,
pastries to die for and this is due to the quality of the ingredients used. The
quality of ingredients make the food therefore you have to find the best
quality for your dish to get the maximum effect it can give to the taste as
well as in nourishing your body.

Events like the US Fine Foods Show should be grabbed if opportunity knocks
in. You will not only learn some basic stuff you may need for your cooking but
you will be accustomed with different high quality ingredients you can use in
cooking. If you want to learn how to cook then cooking is inherent in you.
